1. Hold your cat’s paw and gently squeeze the pad to expose the claw. It’s important to only practice claw trimming when your cat is calm and ready to cooperate.
2. If your cat has light-colored claws, you will spot a pink shape inside the claw. That’s the quick, a group of blood vessels and nerves. In case your cat has dark-colored claws, locate the quick by looking at the underside of the claw.
3. Carefully cut the tip of the claw within approximately 2 mm of the quick as seen on the illustration.
